Biography

Hi, I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the College of Computing and Data Science at Nanyang Technological University (CCDS@NTU), where I work with Prof. Jie Zhang and Prof. Cathy Wu under a joint grant. Previously, I obtained my Ph.D. in Computer Science at NTU in 2025, where I’m fortunate to be advised by Prof. Jie Zhang and Dr. Chi Xu. I received my B.Eng. in Software Engineering from Northeastern University (NEU) in 2019, and my M.Sc. in Artificial Intelligence from NTU in 2021.

Research

My long-term research lies at the intersection of machine learning and optimization, striving to enable automated decision-making with artificial intelligence for complex optimization problems. Central to my research is the field of Learning to Optimize, where advanced machine learning techniques are leveraged to learn deep models capable of assisting in, or directly solving, challenging optimization problems.

During PhD, my primary research focused on Neural Combinatorial Optimization (NCO), with applications to vehicle routing problems and MILP. More recently, I am interested in Contextual RL, LLMs for optimization-related tasks (e.g., fine-tuning, heuristic search, and modeling), as well as optimization problems arising in compelling application domains (e.g., robotics).
